Rob George’s experience across a spectrum of litigation, including commercial, personal injury, mass tort, oil and gas, and employment, makes him a valuable resource for his clients in Corpus Christi and throughout Texas and New Mexico. Rob has also advised clients on transactional matters such as groundwater and oil and gas leases, groundwater district governance, the Clean Water Act, and other issues of regulatory control over real property.

Rob represents victims of oilfield-related deaths and serious injuries, including crashes involving oil field trucks, drilling rig incidents, and injuries and deaths arising from unsafe workplace conditions in oilfield and gas pipeline facilities and locations. These cases commonly arise from oil and gas accidents in South and West Texas and in New Mexico. Rob also handles trucking and commercial vehicle litigation, dram shop liability, commercial litigation, and wage and hour litigation under the FLSA for clients in Corpus Christi and throughout Texas and New Mexico.

Recently, Rob managed two mass tort/class action dockets. One docket involved Volkswagen’s emissions “cheat” devices, and Rob was part of the team representing individuals from Corpus Christi and around the country, along with various Texas counties including Bexar County and Nueces County. In the other docket, Rob and his team represented individuals and business owners in Corpus Christi and Nueces County in litigation regarding the contamination of the City of Corpus Christi’s public drinking water. Rob also served on the co-lead counsel team representing people injured or killed by General Motors’ defective ignition switches. Rob successfully represented the City of Corpus Christi on appeal in Rodriguez v. City of Corpus Christi, No. 16-41004 (5th Cir. 2017) (cert. denied), obtaining a reversal of the jury verdict in a free-speech retaliation case. Rob has served as appellate counsel and second chair in jury trials in Nueces County, Hidalgo County, and Duval County, and he currently provides support for litigation teams with cases pending in Santa Fe, New Mexico, El Paso County, Duval County, Live Oak County, Dallas County, Harris County, Nueces County, and others.

Rob served as a law clerk for The Honorable Thad Heartfield, United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas in Beaumont, Texas and as briefing attorney for The Honorable Gina Benavides, Court of Appeals for the Thirteenth Judicial District of Texas in Edinburg, Texas. While a student at Baylor University School of Law, Rob worked on the Baylor Law Review, placed first in the intraschool moot court competition, earned academic honors, and competed as a member of the Administrative Law moot court team.

Rob grew up in San Antonio, earned a BBA from Baylor University, then worked for seven years in high technology and pharmaceutical sales before attending law school. Rob married his best friend, and they are raising three children in Corpus Christi, Texas, where Rob serves as the President of the Board of The Rise School and as the Secretary of the Board of Annapolis Christian Academy.
